A joint event between Transition Stroud and the newly-launched Stroud Community Seed Bank: screening of In Our Hands, discussion and a seed swap.
The Biodynamic Land Trust will be there to share information and say hello.
This new and beautifully-shot film, created by the Landworkers Alliance, the small-scale producers union, features farmers and growers both urban and rural.
Exploring human-scale agriculture, including seed production, Community Shared Agriculture and dairy farming, – and how to connect people to the land and their food in new and better ways – the film is both a message of hope and a call to action.
In Our Hands documents a growing movement of farmers and food workers in the UK creating vibrant farms, living soils, thriving food markets and a fairer food system for all.
Come and hear their story, join the discussion – and swap some seeds.
There will be time for discussion, sharing, seed swapping and tea drinking.
Make a weekend of it and attend the following evening:
Three Acres and A cow – a history of land rights through folk songs
“In one’s lifetime one might need a solicitor once or twice, a doctor possibly once a month, but a farmer you need three times a day.” – Gerald, seventh generation farmer, from In Our Hands
