Invitation to a Visit of Rush Farm and a Workshop

Invitation to Biodynamic Land Trust Members (and friends) to a Visit of Rush Farm and a Workshop, Friday 20th July 10.15 am – 4pm.

Dear Members and Friends,

You are warmly invited to our first members workshop so we can to get to know each other, discuss key questions we bring, have a farm walk with Adrian and Ann Parsons, and to introduce you to what will be our second project, securing Rush Farm, in partnership with a new body, a land and property trust called Stockwood Community Benefit Society.

Arrival at Rush Farm and Stockwood Business Park from 10.15am with coffee and tea in the Elysia Training School [see below to download location and directions]

10.30: Welcome, Purpose and Introduction to the Workshop by Martin Large and Gabriel Kaye: Personal introductions and collecting questions we have come with.

11.00 – 12.45: Adrian and Ann Parson, Chris Burdett: Introducing Rush Farm and its management and a Farm walk (please bring all weather clothes and wellies/boots). You will see the inputs obtained from Higher Level Stewardship, enjoy the flora, fauna and environment, take in the wood and wild flowers (a bit late of course for the primroses, cowslips, bluebells and wild garlic) and have the chance to ask questions about the farming practice. The walk will take between 90 to 120 minutes and will conclude, having looked at the flowform and heard about the spraying programme and use of the planting calendar [see below to download Rush Farm visit notes].

A Simple Lunch will be provided – if you have special dietary requirements please contact Gabriel to see if we can provide what you need.

1.45pm –  4pm: Members and Inquirers Workshop covering key members questions and;

  1. How we propose to help secure Rush Farm, through partnering with Stockwood Community Benefit Society. (Sebastian Parsons will brief us)
  2. Work on our guiding vision, values and principles

Gabriel and I can offer lifts from Stroud. Don’t forget wellies and outdoor clothes (wind/rain).

Please do bring interested friends as inquirers as this will be an enjoyable, interesting and, we hope, inspiring day out.

Please let us know if you are coming by 10 July: email to gabriel@biodynamiclandtrust.org.uk or BDLT by post or telephone as below.

Looking forward to you joining us,

Best wishes

Martin Large, Gabriel Kaye and the directors of the BDLT
